Staff : Miss Geraldine RabonePractice Manager of Spinal Healthcare and London Pain Consultants
During a 10 year career in the NHS, Geraldine moved from the role of Medical Secretary into various managerial roles. Her duties included taking responsibility simultaneously for 2 very busy departments’ administrative staff, budgets, waiting list targets and direct booking procedures, and she proved herself to be an excellent “trouble shooter”, dealing with various problems from staffing to clinical logistics. She was also involved in updating Job Descriptions and Personal Specification criteria for Administrative staff in relation to Agenda for Change.
During her time in the NHS, Geraldine was involved in a number of projects including helping to establish a 3 year training programme for Medical Secretary’s in conjunction with the local college, and also published an induction booklet for new Doctors/Consultants arriving on a very busy, demanding specialist unit within the Trust.
Geraldine was the first member of staff in the Trust to complete an NVQ level 3 in Administration, which she completed in just 8 months. She then went on to complete an NVQ level 4 in Management and gained her NVQ C25 Coaching certificate.
On leaving the NHS some 3 years ago, Geraldine set up Satellite Sec, a virtual practice management and medical transcription company specialising in supporting both the NHS and the private sector.
